Because of my history especially with Kingsley being born at 35wks 5days it was highly suggested that I start the process of progrsterone shots. Progesterone is a hormone your body creates naturally. It is key in the nine months of pregnancy, early on it helps your uterus grow and keeps it from having contractions. Today was my second round. I will continue to go in until 37 weeks I will meet with a nurse to get the 17p injected, hoping that extra progesterone might help prevent a preterm birth. Each week my weight and blood pressure will be recorded, she will listen to mine and baby’s heart rates as well as the placenta. I am thankful to have this team available to me because I am able to be closely monitored ensuring the safety for both baby and I. It’s also so nice to know I can get answers for any questions or concerns no matter how small. I do believe I get great healthcare with my regular OB team but they see many woman from two different military bases, wait times for questions or emergency appointments can be quite extensive.
Thankful to have more personal care through this pregnancy because it’s already had its complications. I’ve been on and off bed rest or activity restriction. During my hospital stay today some other tests were taken because of some recent symptoms in the last month or so. Right now only I am being affected. We feel so very blessed that baby has been so strong and healthy through it all. Perfect size with a heart rate of 156. A little disappointed to find out that I will have to take things even more easy than before. Hoping to get some more answers on what could be causing my symptoms but for now I am on strict bed rest. It’s all worth it for you precious one.
On a brighter note, we’ve decided on the most fitting name! I am in love with this little being so much alread you. Praying he continues to stay safe & healthy in my tummy until it’s time.
