Fatigue, heartburn, and restless legs at night have arrived this week. My pregnancies with Jameson and Kingsley were more similar than Lennox’s pregnancy has been. This time around I haven’t as sick and there for I have put on more weight, I am not concerned with the numbers or how much tighter my clothes fit, I feel healthier and I’m assured Lennox is getting enough nutrients because I haven’t been so sick. But it is also harder for my body this time around. Keeping up with our two boys along with my household duties has become a tad overwhelming with how exhausted I have felt. I will assume the many of my symptoms will come sooner this being my 3rd pregnancy in 3 years.
To help with the tiredness and body aches I have been taking a little extra time out of each day to relax. I know in order to take care of the boys I need to make sure I am feeling the best I can.
I love infused water, but this week I’ve switched things up a bit. To help with the fatigue I have added two tablespoons of chia seeds to my water each day. It has really helped throughout the day. For years now I have added chia seeds to my oatmeal and smoothies but never knew how truly beneficial they are for you. They containe more antioxidants than blueberries. And are often used a natural pre workout and energy drink. They also improve digestion health and brain function (thank goodness because my my mom/pregnancy brain has been in full force lately). Having this tumbler from The Mason Bar Company is great to have around, I am continuously filling it up to stay hydrated. I would recommend this to anyone, especially a woman who is expecting or even as a new mom gift. They also have these fabulous new bamboo lids that I can not wait to get my hands on, check them out here. Today in my tumbler I am enjoying 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, strawberries and a kiwi that I infused in water overnight.
Along with walking, morning and evening yoga, I have been talking baths more frequently. To also help with restless legs I have taken warm showers right before bed. I let the water run mainly on my legs then massaged Ortho Ease by Young Living. This routine has been helping immensely. Ortho Ease is a soothing pure therapeutic-grade essential oil massage oil. Also helps with vericose veins that run up and down the back of my legs, giving me comfort with the aches and sharp pains that come with those.
Even with the expected symptoms that have come with being 6 months pregnant in my third pregnancy I am enjoying it all. Lennox is so active and he is a constant reminder of my family, the love I have for them and our future. All so exciting.
I’m thankful I’ve found a routine to help with these symptoms, just in time for our busy Mother’s Day weekend!
