Aren’t these prints darling? So fitting for us and our home. Today I am so excited to share some words from Carol the creator and designer of these prints and owner of Stop Growing Up!
I’m a 27 year old stay at home mama. I’ve been married for almost 5 years to my college sweetheart (Bob) & we have two girls – a two year old (Lucia) and a 7 month old baby (Juliet). I am for sure a COFFEE drinker, and drink at least 2 cups a day just to keep up with my energetic little girls! I spend my days playing dress-up, watching Frozen, and reading “Pinkalicious” 439438948 times. 🙂 I work during my girl’s naps and after their bedtime.
I was inspired to start my shop as I was working on decorating my girls’ rooms. A lot of the room decor I liked was too expensive &/or wasn’t exactly my style. I was also encouraged by a friend who had recently opened an etsy shop to give it a try – she showed me the ropes & helped me get started. When I opened it up, I just had a few different designs that I had created for my girls, & today I have almost 150 different designs for sale in my shop. A customer favorite lately has been my “Stand Tall, Darling” flamingo print.
I love connecting with other small businesses and always encourage them and help them in any way that I can! I think the best advice that I’ve been given & that I try to pass on is to stop comparing your business to others – whether you are looking at their number of followers on social media, sales, etc., it will only discourage you and take away from your accomplishments. It is so easy to do when you are just starting out, but you can’t compare your brand new shop to a well-established one. The phrase “comparison is the thief of joy” is one that rings true for me. I stopped looking at other shop’s statistics and it has made me much more appreciative of my own. Also, be original! I think it’s easy to try to copy someone else when you see something that’s selling well, but my best sellers are prints that are completely original. And finally, connect with your followers on social media. I truly appreciate all of my customers and followers & do my best to give back to them in the form of giveaways and special discount codes.
Jameson, my oldest son is getting a bit of a room revamp! We have taken away the “Woodland Theme” and will be making his room elective adventurous. I love the verse Matthew 17:20 and found Carols print to be so fitting for his space. Once we get a color scheme decided we will have it in a nice colorful frame!
Carol was so gracious enough to share a discount code with all of us for these and all other prints in her shop. Use code SAVE25 for 25% off.
