Summer afternoon… The two most beautiful words in the English language. – Henry James
Summer has always been my favorite season. The energy and warm was it brings has always given me a lot of peace. Here are some small pieces of this summer that I have enjoyed.
Our first summer in our new home so far is nothing short of amazing. We live in a community I enjoy being apart of plenty of activities and parks surrounding us.
My favorite part so far might just be the time spent in our back yard. The boys (and Jewel our pup) are out there every day. It’s their first summer together and adventuring together. They will play, create and imagine on their own for hours and I just love to watch them. Makes me so excited for the future.
And of course with summer comes grilling season. There’s something about the smell of food fresh off the BBQ.
I love the produce summer brings. Most of this pregnancies cravings involve fruit. I drink infused water regularly, lately my favorite is blueberry and lemon!
Super easy, but delicious and so summer worthy! I just throw a handful of blueberries, a slice of lemon in a jar then fill with water. Let it sit over night. Sometimes if I know I could use that extra energy boost of energy I’ll add some chia seeds.
I enjoy using my MBC tumbler’s, fill a jars one put a lid on it, in the morning add a straw and it’s ready to go.
Enjoying sunsets like this. Colors so stunning and bright. Reminds me of cotton candy. Glad I was able to capture this view from the other evening.
Another one of my favorite parts of this season is summer fashion. The patterns, textures and this summer it’s especially about comfort.
My go to shoes are my Huaraches Sandals from Humble Hilo. They are light, airy and most importantly comfortable for my often swollen pregnant feet. And isn’t the clutch I scored just gorgeous?
It’s been extra hot for Western Washington lately so we have been staying in doors more than usual enjoying the AC.
Which means extra cuddles for mom and baby Lennox. I definitely can use the relaxation and I love the bonding with my two boys and unborn.
And with this heat has come my swollen pregnant feet. There’s been many late night cool Epsom Salt baths with two of my favorite essential oils. Lavender and Gentle Baby by Young Living perfectly paired with my relaxing Alki Candle Co. Lavender soy candle.
By the time summer is almost over we will have made many memories as a family of four and then we will be welcoming our fifth member. Our youngest son.
