I recently upgraded my camera to a Canon Rebel T6i. To say I am excited is a understatement. I took several photography courses in college and I admit I did not know what I was doing. At the time I wasn’t invested. Back then I was on the track team and also worked. But now as a mother I have grown such an interest for preserving precious moments of our family. I am excited to dive in, soak up information and grow in my creative outlet.
A huge goal of mine is to confidently capture images on manual mode. Not just use this as a glorified point and shoot. Although it does take some good pictures on automatic, I am wanting to use all the capabilities this camera has to offer.
At the start of the new year I was inspired by Shoot Along to take the leap, upgrade my camera and to take better pictures. Each week I am sent a lesson, including videos, instructions and tips on how to better use my DSLR.
My hopes are to shoot family moments, invest in a creative outlet and grow my blog. And perhaps in the future it may turn into even more than just hobby. Is becoming a photographer, capturing moments for other families something that I aspire to do, yes. I think it would be really rewarding to make a business out of something I’ve become passionate about. But I know I have plenty to learn. For now I am enjoying the process.
I will be periodically updating my journey. And you’ll notice a change to my Instagram @hereyeswereolivegreen starting today!
