I have to admit the hardest part of being a mother of three young ones and having a husband deployed has to be remembering to take care of myself. I am also the worst when it comes to asking for help. I seem to just go and go until it’s too late. Recently it had gotten to the point where I hit a wall. I was burnt out, mind and body. So I decided it was time to make some changes when it comes to taking care of myself. So I decided to get myself more on a routine and “schedule” in time some ME time. I am making a conscious effort to take all my vitamins and supplements, drink more water, and practice yoga regularly. Along with a shower and getting ready, because ya know that doesn’t always make the cut when your running after three kids under four.
Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it all ways you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. – Eleanor Brownn
I also thought some changes to our master bedroom, my safe place would help bring some more peace and relaxation when I am able to find the time.
So I started with our bed! We had our old mattress since we first were married. It was a good mattress for maybe a year, maybe. I was so happy to have found Tuft and Needle . They were so kind to send us a King size mattress to try out. I have been sleeping on it for about three weeks and I am beyond happy with it! The convenience of it just showing up at my door rolled nicely in a box is so nice. It was extremely easy to set up as well. Tuft and Needle’s innovative foam has been giving my body the support and comfort it needs.
Next stop, I was on the hunt for soft and durable set of sheets. I prefer white sheets because they look airy and fresh. Kind of reminds me of being on vacation. And sometimes going to bed after a long day running after my boys feels just like that. I decided on a set of Bamboo sheets by Malouf Sleep. They have a nice quality weight. Also are hypoallergenic and odor resistant.
Kayla from @mywelloiledlife was sweet enough to send some oils to try out. They just so happened to be exactly what I needed and they arrived just in time. Balance is used for grounding and relaxation, I applied it to the bottoms of my feet and my pulse points. Aromatouch was applied to my lower back and neck. It helps relive sore muscles and joints. also helps body get back to homeostasis. Kayla is really knowledgable in essential oils and their affects on the mind and body. Her page @mywelloiledlife is full of information and great tools on how to safely use oils on your every day life and how the have a effect on the body such as boosting immunity, digestive support or reducing the appearance of wrinkles. The benefits are really endless. She also frequently has exclusive offers on starter kits with free items. So definitely worth giving her a follow!
