Ten years. It’s been ten years since I graduated high school and last weekend was our reunion. It was hitting me hard! A lot has changed in my world and I haven’t been able to keep up with some. As I packed the car I was in complete denial but then I remembered I am loading my mini van with a what feels like million and a half things and majority of them are for the three tiny humans I grew in my belly. Then the memories of the last ten years really start to floor through.
Driving home to my parents I felt all the anxious excited emotions! Graduating from such a small tight knit class I was so looking forward to reconnecting with those I hadn’t had the chance to see much over the last ten years. It ended up being such a good time that my camera and phone stayed tucked away majority of the weekend. The conversations flowed as we all caught up on the last several years and reminisced over old memories spent together as kids. Majority of them I have known well since fifth grade, almost fifteen years of friendship!
I did however manage to capture some shots of the boys in my parents pool! They were so kind to watch them while I was out, but let’s be honest here – they like to spend time with them over me these days, ha. I was gone one evening and woke up the next morning to a once water shy Kingsley swimming across the pool! On our last full day some of my friends headed to our local Family Fun Center and we decided to join them. It had this mama’s sentimental heart full to see my really good friends meet and make memories with my boys. They made them feel really special and talked about their time for days after.
Overall it was one our most successful trips I have taken with the boys. I am really proud of how flexible and go with the flow they can be. But don’t get me wrong, we enjoy settling back into our routines too!
